Collective VOLUNTEER INSURANCE
A municipality cannot function without volunteers and carers. Whether you help with a sports club, collect, serve coffee in 1 of our community centers or are the carer of your father or mother. Your contribution counts! That is why the municipality of Eersel has taken out VNG Volunteer Insurance (Pluspolis) from Centraal Beheer Achmea.
The volunteer insurance offers a secondary insurance. It is a safety net and an addition to the insurance of the volunteer organization or your own insurance if it insufficiently or does not cover the damage suffered.
Who is insured?
The VNG Voluntary Insurance insures volunteers, informal carers, social trainees and young people who participate in projects in the context of social service. Voluntary police and fire brigade are not covered by this insurance.
Do you belong to one of the categories mentioned? Then you are automatically insured with this insurance. This means that you are insured against the most common damages, such as accidents, personal property and legal assistance. Informal carers are not insured for road liability for legal entities. Informal carers are often family members and other loved ones, not legal entities.
The Volunteer Insurance is an additional insurance. Perhaps the damage is insured with another insurance and you can reclaim the damage there. Then that insurance goes for the VNG Volunteer Insurance. This is called 'secondary coverage'. It does not matter when the other insurance has been arranged. This applies to all components, except for the accident module, which does have primary coverage.
This link will take you to the municipal page with information about the insurance and you can download the claim form.
You can also find more information on the Centraal Beheer website .
The municipality of Eersel works together with our team to handle the insurance. We ensure that the claim form reaches the insurance company. The insurer will then contact you.

collective EVENT INSURANCE
As of September 1, 2020, the municipality of Eersel has taken out collective event insurance with Centraal Beheer to support event organizers. Eersel is proud of all the events that the municipality has to offer. This insurance keeps the threshold low for organizing events. The insurance is a nice connection to the collective volunteer insurance that the municipality of Eersel has had for many years.
The collective event insurance is mainly intended as a safety net. Event organizers remain responsible for taking out proper insurance. Damage is always first recovered from your own insurance, but if it does not reimburse all costs, the victim can appeal to the additional, collective insurance of the municipality.
This so-called secondary cover includes liability for organisers, rented or borrowed material, cash, personal belongings of employees, but also legal assistance for employees of the event.
If an accident occurs with one of the employees of the event, you can immediately appeal to the collective insurance.
Not all events are eligible for this insurance. The insurance is especially for organizers of events with a social character, with a maximum of 2,500 visitors. High-risk events and events that attract more visitors are therefore not eligible. Events can also not use the insurance if an event permit has been rejected or not applied for while it was required.
On www.eersel.nl/collective-EVENT insurance you will find all information about the conditions, coverage, exclusions and what to do in case of damage . The claim form can also be found here. The municipality of Eersel also works with our team for this insurance. We ensure that the claim form reaches the insurance company. The insurer will then contact you.
